Attorney General Letitia James Endorses Brad Lander #2 for Mayor

AG James: “Experience and vision matter, and Brad Lander has both”

NEW YORK, NY — In a clear sign of the momentum and enthusiasm behind Lander’s campaign on the first day of early voting, Attorney General Letitia James endorsed Brad Lander #2 for Mayor, praising his decades of public service, leadership on building affordable housing, vision to make New York City more affordable and livable for everyday families, and their work together securing millions of dollars for working class New Yorkers.

“Experience and vision matter, and Brad Lander has both,” said Letitia James. “I have known Brad from his days as a non-profit affordable housing executive, and he has been consistent in his values to work every day to make our city more livable and affordable for all. As New York City Comptroller, we have partnered together to secure millions of dollars for everyday New Yorkers. I am ranking Brad number 2 on my ballot.”

“Attorney General James is a fearless leader who knows what it takes to stand up to bullies like Donald Trump and Andrew Cuomo – because she’s been on the frontlines doing the work for years. I’m honored to have her endorsement as her number two ranking for Mayor of New York City," said Brad Lander. “With Attorney General James on our side, there’s no question that we will defeat Andrew Cuomo and stand up to Donald Trump when he comes after New Yorkers – all while building a safer, more affordable, better run city.”

The endorsement adds to the campaign’s surging moment following the New York Times’ opinion panel of experts overwhelmingly endorsing Lander as their top choice for Mayor, Lander’s exceptional debate performance Thursday night where he eviscerated Andrew Cuomo, and a recent Honan Strategy Group poll showing the race to clearly be a three-candidate contest, with Lander in striking distance of Andrew Cuomo.
