Brad Lander Reports $4.5 Million Raised for 2025 Mayoral Election

In just 2 months as Mayoral candidate, Lander is well over halfway towards hitting $7.93 million spending cap for primary or special election – with 8 months to go before primary

Including matching funds, Lander raised $1.5 million this period alone

NEW YORK, NY – At the close of the campaign finance filing period ending October 7, New York City Comptroller Brad Lander has raised a total of $4.5 million for his 2025 mayoral account, including expected matching funds. This puts him in a strong position to hit the $7.93 million spending cap for a Primary or Special election.

“I’m deeply grateful for the broad, grassroots support for our vision of a safer, more affordable, more livable, and better run city,” Lander said. “This support means we will have all the resources needed to communicate our plan to deliver the strong, honest, steady leadership New Yorkers deserve.”

With this period’s haul of $1.5 million raised ($317,980 raised, of which $144,250 is eligible to be matched by NYC’s 8-to-1 public matching funds program), including expected matching funds, Lander has now:

  • Raised a total of $4.5 million this cycle, which includes approximately $1 million in direct contributions of which $438,933 is eligible for public matching funds, generating $3.5 million in matching funds.

  • Received contributions from a total of 4,122 donors, 94% of whom are New York City residents.

  • Received contributions from over 2,300 individuals in this filing alone, well over half of whom (1,330) contributed for the first time after Lander announced his run for Mayor in late July.

Lander’s haul is particularly notable as he does not take contributions from corporate PACs, corporate lobbyists, fossil fuel executives, real estate development principals, or private equity and investment fund managers.
