Upper West Side Action Group Endorses Brad Lander for Mayor

NEW YORK — Today, the Upper West Side Action Group endorsed Brad Lander for Mayor. The UWS Action Group is a political chapter of both Swing Left and Indivisible that boasts over 7,500 members, has sponsored almost 400 events, and completed almost 11,000 volunteer shifts since their inception in 2017, a week before the first Women's March. The group’s endorsement comes on the heels of Brad’s outstanding performance at last week’s well-attended mayoral forum on the Upper West Side.

"First and foremost we must make sure that neither Adams nor Cuomo win — and no one is better positioned to beat them than Brad Lander, with his impeccable record of delivering huge wins for New York City’s working families,” said Arlene Geiger, UWS Action Group Coordinator. “For decades, Brad has helped New York City build thousands affordable housing units, has shepherded the highest returns for our retirees’ pensions while championing the nation’s strongest climate investments, and has led an office of 700+ people with unparalleled strength and vision.”

Geiger continued: “While other politicians are entangled in corruption and scandal, Brad is and has always been a public servant of integrity who isn’t afraid to tackle our City’s toughest problems. The UWS Action Group is proud to endorse him as the next Mayor of New York City.”

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of one of the most powerful political organizations on the west side, continuing our momentum of building the mayoral race’s broadest coalition of support, ensuring that we have the most resources to speak directly to voters about our plans to deliver a safer, more affordable, better-run city,” said Brad Lander.

The UWS Action Group involves activists from all over New York City working to turn targeted red states and districts blue through door knocking and canvassing, voter registration, postcards and letters, and phoning and fundraising.
