Bay Ridge Democrats Endorses Brad Lander for Mayor

NEW YORK, NY — Today, the Bay Ridge Democrats endorsed Brad Lander for Mayor. With Republican Representative Nicole Malliotakis as their representative in Congress, Bay Ridge Dems is located in one of the few truly purple districts in New York City and has been instrumental in organizing Democrats to win. Lander secured a whopping 72% of the democratic club’s vote.

"Long before he was running for any higher office, Brad was showing up for Bay Ridge, supporting our elected officials and candidates, attending rallies, and knocking on doors,” said Bay Ridge Dems President Kayla Santosuosso. “Our memory is long in Southern Brooklyn. We don't forget who shows up for us, especially during tough fights, and no one has done that more than Brad. Our membership also had a resounding appreciation for Brad's vast policy knowledge, his consistent values and beliefs, and his capacity to lead both fearlessly and with unyielding compassion for others. That's the leadership our city needs and that's why we're proud to endorse Brad Lander."

"I’m deeply honored to receive the endorsement of the Bay Ridge Democrats, the group instrumental behind key Democratic wins in one of the few purple areas of our city. Their support continues our momentum of building the mayoral race’s broadest coalition of support and ensuring that we have the strongest resources to speak directly to voters about our plans to deliver a safer, more affordable, better-run city,” said Brad Lander.

Brad Lander leads the mayoral pack in democratic club endorsements, including from Three Parks Democrats, Broadway Democrats, Village Independent Democrats, Upper West Side Action Group, Hell’s Kitchen Democrats, Independent Neighborhood Democrats, and Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats.

Lander has also received endorsements from UAW Region 9A, New York Progressive Action Network, NYC Organization of Public Service Retirees, and JFREJ, and support from the widest coalition of elected officials, including NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, State Senator Liz Krueger, State Senator Andrew Gounardes, Assemblymember Robert Carroll, and Councilmember Tiffany Cabán. With $5.4 million raised for his campaign, Lander is also leading the pack of mayoral candidates in fundraising
