CUFFH Action Ranks Brad Lander First for Mayor

CUFFH Action: “Brad is not new to this moment. Brad has built deep relationships with the communities that make this city run, and he understands how power works in City Hall.”

NEW YORK, NY — Churches United for Fair Housing (CUFFH) Action endorsed Brad Lander first for Mayor. CUFFH Action, a member of the Working Families Party (WFP), is a top grassroots organization that works to improve housing outcomes among low-income, immigrant, and working-class communities of color.

CUFFH’s #1 rank endorsement of Lander adds to his broad and diverse coalition of support. Notably, in addition to being a political force on its own, CUFFH sits on the executive board of the WFP, who released an unranked slate that also included Lander last month.

“Brad Lander has been in the fight for a more just and equitable New York for decades,” said Rob Solano, Executive Director of CUFFH Action. “He is not new to this moment. Brad has built deep relationships with the communities that make this city run, and he understands how power works in City Hall. At a time when New Yorkers are bracing for the return of a hostile federal administration under Donald Trump, we need someone who won’t back down and someone who knows how to govern with both integrity and urgency. Brad has the experience, the values, and the track record to steer this city through what’s ahead. That’s why we are proud to rank him number one.”

“After spending my entire career in affordable housing, I’m especially grateful to receive the number one endorsement from Churches United for Fair Housing Action,” said Brad Lander. “As Mayor, I’ll continue to work side-by-side with CUFFH Action to bring our rent down, protect our immigrant neighbors from the Trump Administration, and make the city affordable again for hardworking New Yorkers.”

Lander has the deepest and widest coalition of any candidate in the race, with support from Congressman Greg Casar, NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, State Senators Liz Krueger and Andrew Gounardes, Assembly Members Khaleel Anderson and Robert Carroll, and Councilmember Tiffany Cabán

Lander recently secured the endorsements of the Working Families Party, Make the Road, and College Democrats of America. He leads the mayoral pack in Democratic club endorsements, including Indivisible Brooklyn, 504 Dems, Unity Dems, Three Parks Democrats, Broadway Democrats, Village Independent Democrats, Upper West Side Action Group, Hell’s Kitchen Democrats, Bay Ridge Democrats, Independent Neighborhood Democrats, New Kings Dems, and Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats.

Lander has also received endorsements from UAW Region 9A, New York Progressive Action Network, JFREJ, Emgage, and NYC Organization of Public Service Retirees. Lander’s campaign has raised over $7.2 million and will soon surpass the mayoral race’s $8.3 million spending cap.
